In an effort to safeguard your confidentiality, Kim offers a self-pay option.

It is important you understand that when insurance is utilized to cover counseling services, your confidentiality is limited.   Most insurance companies require personal information about you and your treatment, including a diagnosis along with information about your treatment and progress in therapy, in order to approve services. This information then becomes part of your medical record and may be accessible by other agencies in the future, such as health or life insurance agencies, and potentially even employers and lending agencies. Insurance companies have the right to approve or deny services based on your diagnosis and the type of treatment you are receiving. They can also limit the number of sessions you are allowed.

Kim would be considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans, should you wish to submit a claim for reimbursement with your carrier if using the self-pay option. This means you are responsible for the full session fee up front, but your insurance provider may reimburse you for a portion of that fee. Kim will provide you a copy of your monthly superbill (which will include a diagnosis) for you to submit to your insurance company. Insurance companies do not reimburse for workshops, groups or seminars.

To help those desiring to utilize insurance benefits, Kim is credentialled with various insurances through Headway and Grow, virtual therapy platforms.  You may schedule directly through these platforms and provide your insurance information.  The following are insurance providers with which Kim is currently credentialed on Headway:  Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Quest Behavioral Health, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oxford, Oscar Health and United Healthcare.  The following are insurance providers with which Kim is currently credentialed with Grow Therapy:  Cigna and Optum.
